What an amazing little hidden gem in Kalk Bay. I cannot fault a single thing about my experience there. My partner and I had a gorgeous lunch, thee best veggie burger I’ve ever eaten. 100% recommend Zola’s!

Loved eating at Zola’s in the beautiful courtyard. Chef Marco cooked the most delicious food and as a vegan I felt spoilt for choice. We’re only in CT for under a week but we made sure we went there twice so we could try out as much of the sweet treats as possible.

Zola’s Kitchen Zola’s Kitchen is a hidden gem in the heart of Kalk Bay. It is perfectly tucked away, and to enter you have to walk through a very cool clothing shop. Definitely have a look around upon arrival or on your way out. The setup is just beautiful. Once you walk through the shop, you’re transported into a stylishly designed cafe interior. I absolutely love the long cushioned bench and most of all, the sophisticated wooden bar just opposite to it. It is one of those places that makes you feel like you have arrived. If you know what I mean. I also like the plants around the cafe, it just adds such a lovely splash of rich green colour and freshness. It was a beautiful day, so my friend and I opted for an outdoor spot. Through the back door of the cafe, a patio leads up to a couple of steps to a tranquil garden seating area We got ourselves seated and we were greeted by one of the friendliest waiters. He took us through the menu and took our coffee orders, I ordered my usual flat white, and while waiting, we looked through the menu. Everything sounded so delicious and healthy. There is a great selection of breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, and both sweet and savoury crepes. Soon after, I looked up, and our waiter was back with our coffees, yay! Before I dived in, we put our orders through. I decided on Zola’s Sandwich, which consists of Beet hummus, rocket, almond feta, balsamic glazed Mediterranean veg, and avocado on sweet potato sourdough (R115). Doesn’t that just sound scrumptious? Even though I was incredibly excited and hungry after my morning of swimming and saunaing, I know right? Typical Deep South thing to do. I was really enjoying the peaceful atmosphere in this beautiful garden, and my beautifully smooth and delicious coffee. It was just one of those moments where life feels good. Before I completely zoned into a deep meditative state, our food arrived. My favourite part! Honestly, I was expecting good things but this presentation exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely beautiful, a work of art. You could see that there was so much love and attention put into this meal. I felt honoured to experience this. My favourite part was seeing the thick layer of beetroot hummus on top of the beautifully crisp bread, and of course all the other elements too. I am an absolute sucker for hummus and they did not skimp on it one bit. Okay, that’s enough. Let’s get into it! I formed the perfect bite with a little bit of everything on my fork. Let me just tell you, it was absolutely delicious. The creamy yet nutty hummus on top of the perfectly toasted bread. If that wasn’t enough, you have the roasted peppers and carrots, and the salty, smooth almond feta… some extra zing from the pesto and the crunch of the seeds to add some texture! The setting paired with this delicious meal, I was in heaven I tell you. I absolutely love eating, and what is so nice about this is that not only was it absolutely delicious, but it was incredibly healthy. So I can say I was incredibly satisfied on all levels. My friend ordered the Brekkie Crepe, and he said it was phenomenal too. I take his word for it because he is just as much a foodie as me. After we finished our meals and digested for a bit, we paid the bill and took a walk around. They also have a little shop on the patio level where they sell the most delicious sweet retreats and some food retail products. If you’re a curious cat like me, you can also peek into the kitchen, it’s right next to the store. Everything is spic and span, and I must say that every interaction I had with the staff of Zola’s Kitchen was incredibly positive. Overall, I had an absolutely wonderful experience. I can highly recommend this spot. Whether you’re looking for a spot to enjoy friends and family, or just sit back and read a book, this is the place for you. I can’t wait to go back and try another plate of art. Thank you Zola’s!

Lovely place with beautiful “secret garden” in the back. Love the art. Food is delicious and healthy, had the Bruce Lee salty galette, so tasty, and gluten free and vegan!

This is an absolutely beautiful place and the staff are so kind it feels like home. Our server patience was so kind and she was multitasking like a pro!! I appreciate the hardwork everyone does here. The design of the place is beautiful as well, as an interior designer I appreciate the colors, style and textures here. They even have cool artwork in the space. The chef made some yummy pancakes and was so kind. Please visit this cute space!

Had a really lovely breakfast at this new spot. It's unpretentious, has a great menu, lovely service, and a laidback atmosphere - will definitely be returning. Only complaint is that although the galettes were great, they were a little dry. However, overall fantastic!
